Removals in the East End of Glasgow
Local moves in Bridgeton, Dalmarnock, Parkhead, Shettleston and Tollcross by a crew that knows London Road as well as Duke Street.

The East End has changed more than any other part of Glasgow over the last fifteen years. The old Athletes' Village in Dalmarnock is now a neighbourhood of terraced houses and flats, Bridgeton Cross has new blocks alongside the surviving tenements, and the streets between Gallowgate and London Road have filled in with housing association builds. Further out, Parkhead, Shettleston and Tollcross keep the classic mix of red sandstone tenements, four-in-a-block cottage flats and inter-war terraces.
Removals in the East End of Glasgow are mostly about access. Tenement closes on Duke Street and Shettleston Road have no lifts, the new estates off Dalmarnock Road have narrow shared parking courts, and Celtic Park brings its own parking restrictions on match days along London Road and Springfield Road. Get those three things right and the rest of the day runs smoothly.
As an East End removal company we are ten minutes from Bridgeton Cross via the M8 and M74, and we know the streets that are easier to load from than they appear. Phone Peter for a price or a chat about the best day.
Moving in East End: what we know
Dalmarnock and the former Athletes' Village
The housing built for the 2014 Commonwealth Games between Dalmarnock Road and the river is now a mature estate of terraced houses and low-rise flats. Streets are narrow with shared parking courts rather than driveways, and some of the flats are accessed through communal doors with fob entry. The houses have tight internal staircases and small landings, so tall wardrobes are usually dismantled. Dalmarnock station and the M74 at Junction 2 are two minutes away, which makes it one of the easiest parts of the East End to reach.
Celtic Park match days
On Celtic home games the streets around London Road, Springfield Road, Janefield Street and the Forge are heavily restricted, with residents-only parking and road closures for several hours around kick-off. Parkhead Cross and the Gallowgate also clog with supporters. We check the fixture list before agreeing a date within half a mile of the stadium and will suggest a different day or an early finish if there is a match.
Shettleston, Tollcross and Sandyhills
Shettleston Road and Tollcross Road are long tenement streets with shops below and three-storey flats above, and behind them are quieter streets of four-in-a-block cottage flats and 1930s terraces around Sandyhills Road and Wellshot Road. Cottage flats have their own front doors and gardens, so the van can usually park on the kerb outside. The tenements need the usual stair crew, and both main roads have bus stops and yellow lines that dictate where we can wait.
Routes in and out of the East End
From West George Street we take the M8 to Junction 13 for Alexandra Parade and Dennistoun, or the M74 from the Kingston Bridge to Junction 1A for Dalmarnock and Bridgeton. Shettleston and Tollcross are best reached along London Road or the M74 to Junction 2A. Heading out of the city, the M74 south and the M8 east are on the doorstep, so East End moves to Lanarkshire, East Kilbride or Edinburgh are quick to get under way.
