Terms and conditions
Last updated 30 September 2026
These terms apply to removals, packing and related services provided by Clyde Movers Glasgow (“we”, “us”), 48 West George Street, Glasgow G2 1BP. By confirming a booking you agree to them. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. Quotes and bookings
- Quotes are based on the information you give us about the property, access, volume and dates. If the job turns out to be materially different (for example, more items, additional floors, no parking arranged or extra collection points), we will explain any change to the price before we continue.
- A quote is valid for 30 days. A booking is confirmed when we have agreed a date and price in writing (email, WhatsApp or text is fine).
- We do not normally take a deposit. Where we do for large jobs, we will say so in the quote.
2. Your responsibilities
- Tell us about anything unusual: very heavy or fragile items, restricted access, lift bookings, parking restrictions and key handover times.
- Arrange any parking bay suspension or permit that we recommend, unless we have agreed to do this for you. Parking fines caused by no suitable loading space being available may be passed on at cost.
- Make sure everything to be moved is packed and ready, unless you have booked our packing service.
- Be present, or have a representative present, at both addresses to confirm what is to be moved and where it goes.
3. Items we cannot move
We cannot carry hazardous or flammable materials (gas bottles, paint thinners, fuel), live animals, perishable food over long distances, or items that are illegal to possess. Please move jewellery, cash, passports and important documents yourself.
4. Payment
Payment is due on completion of the move by bank transfer or cash unless otherwise agreed in writing. Business customers may be invoiced with 14-day terms by prior agreement.
5. Cancellation and changes
- You may cancel or change your booking free of charge up to 48 hours before the agreed start time.
- Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged up to 50% of the quoted price, and less than 24 hours up to 100%, to cover crew and vehicle costs. We will always try to rebook rather than charge where we can.
- If your date of entry moves, tell us as soon as you know and we will do our best to move with it.
6. Waiting time and delays
If we are kept waiting for keys or access beyond the time agreed, waiting time may be charged at the hourly rate stated in your quote. We will discuss this with you on the day before any charge is applied.
7. Care of your goods and liability
- We take great care of your belongings and your property. Goods in transit cover is available; tell us about high-value items before the move so appropriate cover is in place.
- Please report any damage to us within 7 days of the move, with photographs, so we can deal with it properly.
- We are not liable for items packed by you unless there is clear evidence of mishandling, for items of sentimental rather than market value beyond their market value, for pre-existing damage, or for delays caused by events outside our control such as severe weather, road closures or building access failures.
- Where we dismantle or reassemble furniture, we do so with care but cannot guarantee flat-pack furniture will survive dismantling, and we will point out any risk before starting.
8. Complaints
If something goes wrong, tell us. Contact Peter on 07481 469221 or clydemoversglasgow@gmail.com and we will aim to resolve the issue within 14 days.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by Scots law and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction.
