Commercial Removals Glasgow
Shops, clinics, salons, cafes and workshops moved with care for stock, equipment and your opening hours.

Commercial removals cover everything that is not a house and not a standard office: a hairdresser relocating from Dumbarton Road to a bigger unit, a dental practice moving chairs and cabinetry, a cafe swapping premises in Finnieston, a joiner moving a workshop out to Hillington, or a shop clearing a unit on Sauchiehall Street at the end of a lease. The common thread is that closing costs money, so we plan the move to close you for as short a time as possible.
Clyde Movers brings the right kit for the job: sack trucks and dollies for heavy display units, blankets and shrink wrap for glass counters and mirrors, crates for stock, and a crew sized for the weight involved. Peter looks at what is being moved and where the awkward bits are, from a chest freezer to a treatment bed, before the price is agreed.
We work evenings and Sundays where trading hours require it.

Retail and hospitality moves
A shop move is mostly about fixtures and stock. Slatwall panels, gondola shelving and glass counters need a careful dismantle, and the stock needs to be counted in and counted out. For cafes and restaurants the heavy items are fridges, coffee machines and extraction units, and the awkward items are tables, chairs and crockery in bulk. We move commercial fridges upright and let them stand before they are switched back on.
Glasgow's retail streets, especially Sauchiehall Street, Argyle Street and Byres Road, have delivery windows in the morning and restrictions later in the day, so we plan loading around those or move at night.
Clinics, salons and studios
Treatment beds, hydraulic chairs, dental or beauty equipment and sinks require dismantling by someone who knows the fixings, and often a plumber at the other end. We coordinate with your fitter so the chairs are unbolted before we arrive and can be bolted down once positioned. Mirrors are wrapped and moved flat, and any product stock is crated by shelf so restocking is quick. Clinics with confidential records get sealed crates. Many salons in the West End and Southside are in tenement ground-floor units with a step at the door, so we bring a ramp.
Workshops, storage units and yards
Moving a workshop means weight: benches, machinery, racking and stock of materials. We size the crew and van for the weight, use dollies and ratchet straps, and check the floor loading at the new unit. Racking is dismantled bay by bay and rebuilt in the same order. If you are leaving a storage unit at Shieldhall or a yard in Hillington, we can work to the access hours of the site and load directly from the roller shutter. Anything that needs a forklift or a tail lift is agreed in advance so the right vehicle turns up.
How it works
How we handle commercial removals in Glasgow
Look at the premises
Peter visits or reviews a video of both units, noting heavy or fixed items, loading access, shutters and any lease conditions on the old unit. You get a fixed price and a plan that fits your last and first trading days.
Prepare stock and fixtures
Stock goes into crates or boxes labelled by section. Fixed shelving is unbolted by us or your shopfitter as agreed. Fridges and freezers are emptied and defrosted, and anything with a hazard label is flagged.
Move out, move in
The crew loads heavy fixtures first and stock last, so stock comes off first at the new unit and can be shelved while fixtures go back up. Out-of-hours work keeps you trading right up to the end.
Ready to trade
We rebuild fixtures to your layout, position equipment and clear packaging. If you need an end-of-lease clearance of the old unit, we can strip it back for the landlord's inspection.
