Office Removals Glasgow

Move your office across Glasgow with the desks up and the phones ringing again by Monday morning.

Movers wheeling labelled plastic crates through the lobby of a Glasgow city-centre office block

An office move is judged on one thing: how quickly the team is back at work. Clyde Movers plans office removals in Glasgow around that, typically loading on a Friday afternoon or over a weekend so that staff arrive on Monday to their desks, chairs and screens already in place. We handle everything from a three-desk studio in the Merchant City to a floor of an office block on Bothwell Street.

City-centre logistics are the hard part. Many buildings on West George Street, St Vincent Street and around Blythswood Square have no dedicated loading bay, and the streets are subject to loading restrictions during the day. We agree a time with your building manager, use the goods lift where there is one, and bring crates rather than boxes so files move in one trip and unpack fast.

Peter runs each job from our own base on West George Street, so he knows the block layouts and the traffic.

What’s included

  • Desk dismantling and reassembly, including bench desks and sit-stand frames
  • Lidded plastic crates for files, stationery and personal items
  • Anti-static wrapping for monitors, PCs and printers
  • Chairs, pedestals and filing cabinets moved fully loaded where safe
  • Labelling system so every crate lands at the right desk
  • Evening and weekend moves to avoid disruption
  • Goods in transit cover available, ask Peter for details

Working with Glasgow office buildings

Most multi-tenant blocks in the city centre require a booked slot for the goods lift, proof of insurance and a named contact on site. Some restrict moves to after 6pm or to weekends, and a few on St Vincent Street and Bothwell Street have loading access only from a lane at the rear. We ask for the building's move-in rules early and build the day around them.

If your new building is a modern development on the Broomielaw or at Cadogan Square, expect a concierge who wants the lift padded and a start time confirmed in writing. Handling this admin is part of the job, not an extra.

IT, phones and confidential material

We are not IT engineers, but we move IT properly: monitors wrapped and boxed upright, PCs and switches in padded crates, cables bagged and labelled to the desk they came from. If your IT provider wants to disconnect and reconnect, we schedule around them. Filing cabinets travel locked; if you have confidential records, crates can be sealed with numbered tags and signed off at the other end. Shredding is not something we offer, but we can point you to local providers if you are clearing archives before the move.

Keeping downtime short

A three-desk office can be moved in an afternoon. A twenty-desk office usually takes a Friday evening plus a Saturday. The variables are lifts, distance and how much furniture is being replaced rather than moved. Tell us if the new office is getting new desks so we only move what is coming, and let us know about anything heavy such as safes or plan chests. With crates packed by Thursday and desks rebuilt by Saturday night, most Glasgow offices are working normally on Monday.

How it works

How we handle office removals in Glasgow

  1. Site visit and plan

Peter visits both offices, counts desks and storage, checks the lifts and the loading area, and asks about IT. You get a fixed price and a timeline that fits your building's rules and your team's calendar.

  2. Crates and labels

We deliver crates a few days before. Each person packs their own desk into labelled crates that match a floor plan of the new office, so unloading is fast and nobody's stapler goes missing.

  3. The move

The crew disconnects and wraps equipment, dismantles desks, and loads in an order that mirrors the new layout. We work evenings or weekends if your lease or landlord requires quiet hours.

  4. Set up and hand back

At the new office we rebuild desks to the plan, position chairs and pedestals, and place crates at each seat. Empty crates are collected a week later once everyone has unpacked.

FAQ

Office removals questions

Can you move our office at the weekend?
Yes. Most of our office moves are Friday evening and Saturday, which suits landlords who restrict weekday lift use and keeps your team working until the last minute. Sunday moves are possible too; tell us the building's opening arrangements.
Do you provide crates?
We deliver lidded plastic crates before the move and collect them afterwards. They stack in the van, protect paperwork from rain and do not need taping. The number of crates is agreed on the site visit and included in your quote.
Will you disconnect our computers?
We unplug, label and wrap monitors, PCs and peripherals and set them back on the right desk. Reconnecting networks and servers is best left to your IT provider, and we coordinate timings with them so the equipment is in place when they arrive.
What about parking in the city centre?
Weekday loading in the city centre is restricted on many streets. We check your building's loading bay or rear lane and, where the only option is a metered street, arrange a bay suspension with Glasgow City Council. Weekend moves make this much simpler.
How much notice do you need?
Two to four weeks is ideal for anything over ten desks, mainly because building managers need to book lifts and your IT provider needs to be lined up. Small office moves can often be fitted in within the week.
