House Removals Glasgow
A proper house move for Glasgow homes, from Southside semis to West End villas, handled by a crew that knows the streets.

Moving house in Glasgow rarely goes exactly as the calendar suggests. Settlement is usually on a Friday, the keys often turn up at the solicitor around lunchtime, and the buyers of your old place want to be in by the afternoon. Clyde Movers plans the day around that reality: we load early, hold the van if needed, and unload the moment your new keys are released.
Peter runs every job from our base on West George Street, so you get a straight answer about crew size, van space and timings rather than a call centre. We move three-bed semis in Newlands, terraces in Dennistoun, villas in Bearsden and everything in between, and we bring the blankets, straps, wardrobe boxes and tools to dismantle beds and wardrobes on the day.
If your street sits inside a controlled parking zone we will tell you early so you can apply to Glasgow City Council for a bay suspension, and if it rains, which it will, everything upholstered goes into the van under wrap.
What’s included

- Wardrobe boxes so hanging clothes travel on the rail
- Safe loading of washing machines, fridge freezers and tumble dryers
- Rooms labelled and furniture placed where you want it at the new house
- Goods in transit cover available, ask Peter for details
Working around Scottish settlement day
In Scotland the money and the keys move together, usually on a Friday. Your solicitor will not release keys until funds clear, and that can be 10am or 3pm. We load your old home in the morning, and if you are selling, we aim to be fully out by midday so your buyers can get in. The van then waits for your call. If the delay stretches, the crew takes a break rather than charging you to stand around.
Ask your solicitor to push for an early settlement and to have the keys collected from the selling agent's office rather than posted, which has cost more than one Glasgow family an extra night in a hotel.
Access, parking and the council
Most Glasgow streets inside the G1 to G12 and G41 to G42 postcodes are controlled parking zones. A 3.5t Luton needs about two car lengths outside the door, and a warden will not accept a removal van as a reason to skip a ticket. Glasgow City Council issues bay suspensions with roughly seven working days' notice, so mention your address when you book and we will tell you if it is needed.
In the suburbs the issue is different: narrow driveways, low-hanging trees and shared lanes in places like Jordanhill or Giffnock. We check the approach on the walk-through so the van does not end up reversing half a mile.
Weather, floors and fragile items
Rain is part of moving in Glasgow. We use furniture blankets, stretch wrap and mattress covers, and we lay runners on hall floors so nobody tracks wet gravel across your buyer's carpet. Glass tabletops travel flat between cardboard sheets, mirrors and pictures go in picture boxes, and lamps ride inside boxes rather than loose in the van. Garden pots, bikes and the contents of the shed go on last so they can come off first at the other end without dirtying the household load.
How it works
How we handle house removals in Glasgow
Walk-through and quote
Send Peter a video walk-through on WhatsApp or book a quick visit. He counts rooms, checks access at both ends and confirms whether the street needs a parking suspension. You get a fixed price, not an estimate that grows on the day.
Pack and prepare
Book our packers or do it yourself with boxes we can drop off beforehand. Defrost the freezer two days out, empty drawers of anything heavy, and keep passports, keys and phone chargers in a bag that travels with you.
Moving day
The crew arrives early, protects doorways and floors, and loads the heaviest items first. We wait for the key call, then drive across to your new address and unload room by room, rebuilding beds first so you can sleep that night.
Settle in
Before we leave we check nothing has been left in the van, take away flattened boxes if you want, and confirm any furniture placement. If anything needs shifting later, one call sorts it.
